The FOOT experiment is designed to measure nuclear fragmentation cross sections in the energy range relevant to Particle Therapy and Space Radioprotection, providing benchmark data for transport models and simulations. This contribution focuses on the characterization and the performance studies of the Vertex and the Inner Tracker detectors, two pixel silicon trackers based on MIMOSA-28 sensors within the FOOT magnetic spectrometer. Experimental results obtained with minimum ionizing particles at BTF and with a 12C beam at CNAO demonstrate reliable tracking performance, with efficiency higher than 99%, controlled noise occupancy and a stable cluster response for all the charged fragments that can be reconstructed by the experiment. These results confirm the robustness of the FOOT MIMOSA-28 trackers as a fundamental element for accurate fragmentation cross section measurements.
