Propranolol as first-line treatment for life-threatening diffuse infantile hepatic hemangioma: a case report

Infantile hepatic hemangioma (IHH) is the mostcommon benign tumor of the liver in the first yearof age. Treatment for IHH is historically medicaltherapy, including corticosteroids, interferon a, vincris-tine and cyclophosphamide.(1)Nevertheless, significantmorbidity and mortality have been reported.(2)Since2010, few experiences of patients with IHH successful-ly treated with oral propranolol as second- or first-linetherapy have been reported.(3)Herein, we describe aparticular case of life-threatening IHH successfullytreated with oral propranolol as first-line approach.
