The data collected on the furnace material lead to hypothesize that the local artisans were familiar with the local materials and their technological characteristics. The analysis performed on the pottery fragments distinguished two classes of pottery with different refinement of the mixture: the one less refined for common use in the preparation and storage of food, and the one more refined for the upper- class use. All these data, connected with the particular assessment of the Citadel, reinforce the hypothesis of this Site as an important economic centre for metal extraction and processing.
