The difficulty in constructing a questionnaire can be easily underestimated: we all are used to asking questions and giving answers and this would lead us to think that anyone can draw up a questionnaire. In fact, it is a task that requires long and accurate planning, as well as very specific skills and knowledge. Additionally, this article aims to mark the epistemological and methodological differences between physical and human science, therefore suggesting the advantage of starting a research by drawing up a Map of Properties relevant to the cognitive objectives of the research. It is argued how the construction of questionnaires requires many different steps, starting with the definition of the cognitive objectives and ending with the questionnaire.
Nell’articolo si intende sottolineare la superficialità con cui spesso si affronta il difficile compito di redigere un questionario. La familiarità di ciascuno con la pratica di porre e rispondere a domande nella vita quotidiana induce a pensare che si possa trasferire questa esperienza nella preparazione di un questionario. Si tende pure a pensare che la preparazione del questionario si esaurisca nell’applicazione di uno schema rigido, mutuato da un’idea non molto sofisticata delle scienze fisiche, cui molti ricercatori sociali ambiscono attenersi.
