The behavior of lauric, miristic, palmitic, stearic acids has studied in solution at 25°C and in 0.5 M N(CH3)4Cl. In order to determined the pKa value for each acid, their distribution between aqueous phase and CHCl3, has been studied. Their coefficient of distribution between the same solvent and in the same experimental conditions has been determined. No evidence of associated or micellar species was found.
