In this study we propose an outline of the activities of Ikalla, an important official recorded in the Neo-Sumerian texts from Umma. A large dossier documents the main role of Ikalla in each stage of textile and fabric production, from the col- lecting of raw wool to the distribution of the finished product, as well as his in- volvement in other economic activities.
