A novel efficient synthesis of N,N′-disubstituted ureas has been developed. Aromatic and aliphatic primary amines undergo oxidative carbonylation under atmospheric pressure of carbon monoxide using Pd(II) catalyst in com- bination with its anodic recycling at a graphite electrode.
