A review of all the vertebrate localities known in the Palaeozoic of the Alps (France, Switzerland, Germany, Austria, Italy, Slovenia) is conducted. The oldest records are Devonian in age, from both Austria and Italy. Carboniferous vertebrates are from Slovenia, Italy and France. More Permian localities are known from Switzerland, Austria, and mainly Italy. The Devonian-Carboniferous taxa chiefly correspond to fishes, although the Permian ones are essentially concerned with reptilian footprints. Most records were located on the Noric terrane, which is considered as a north Gondwanan element in Upper Palaeozoic times.

Abstract
A review of all the vertebrate localities known in the Palaeozoic of the Alps (France, Switzerland, Germany, Austria, Italy, Slovenia) is conducted. The oldest records are Devonian in age, from both Austria and Italy. Carboniferous vertebrates are from Slovenia, Italy and France. More Permian localities are known from Switzerland, Austria, and mainly Italy. The Devonian-Carboniferous taxa chiefly correspond to fishes, although the Permian ones are essentially concerned with reptilian footprints. Most records were located on the Noric terrane, which is considered as a north Gondwanan element in Upper Palaeozoic times.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
