In conclusion, although the induction of active immunity through HBV vaccination is theoretically the best approach, we observed poor results with HBV vaccine given in patients transplanted for HBV end-stage chronic liver disease. Neither humoral nor cellular immune response against HBV could be induced. Whether more immunogenic vaccines or alternative schedules of vaccination may improve these results needs to be further investigated.

Abstract
In conclusion, although the induction of active immunity through HBV vaccination is theoretically the best approach, we observed poor results with HBV vaccine given in patients transplanted for HBV end-stage chronic liver disease. Neither humoral nor cellular immune response against HBV could be induced. Whether more immunogenic vaccines or alternative schedules of vaccination may improve these results needs to be further investigated.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
