"Il principe costante" di Jerzy Grotowski - Ricostruzione

La registrazione audiovisiva di uno spettacolo teatrale costituisce una sorta di contraddizione in termini, visto che lo spettacolo teatrale vive hic et nunc ed è affidato da un lato alla memoria degli spettatori e dall’altro al punto di vista sempre “parziale” della registrazione documentaria. In particolare, di uno dei maggiori spettacoli del Novecento, “Il Principe Costante” da Calderon-Slowacki, con la regia di Jerzy Grotowski e la grande interpretazione di Ryszard Cieslak, erano rimasti, separati, un filmato anonimo senza audio e una registrazione sonora. Nel 1975, a cura del direttore dell’allora Istituto del Teatro dell’Università di Roma, Ferruccio Marotti, le due tracce audiovisive sono state, con l’aiuto dello stesso Cieslak, sincronizzate e ne è nato un documento di grande valore storico: “Il Principe Costante – Ricostruzione”, che ha salvato dall’oblio uno spettacolo mitico ed è stato presentato in tutto il mondo. Recentemente tale filmato è stato restaurato in digitale e sottotitolato in italiano, inglese, francese e polacco. Luisa Tinti ha eseguito la traduzione dei sottotitoli in francese e ha curato l’insieme dell’edizione dei sottotitoli. The audio-visual registration of a play constitute a sort of contradiction in terms, since the play lives here and now and it is assigned on one side to the memory of the spectators and on the other side to the point of view always “partial” of the documentary recording. In particular, of one of the biggest performances of the twentieth century, “The Constant Prince” by Calderon-Slowacki, directed by Jerzy Grotowski with the great performance of Ryszard Cieslak, were left, separately, an anonymous movie without sound and a sound recording. In 1975, by the then Director of the Institute of Theatre, University of Rome, Ferruccio Marotti, the two audio-visual tracks were, with the help of the same Cieslak, synchronized, and it has resulted in a document of great historical value: “The Constant Prince – Reconstruction”, which saved from oblivion a legendary performance and has been presented all over the world. Recently this movie has been digitally restored and subtitled in English, Italian, French and Polish. Luisa Tinti has executed the translation of subtitles in French and has edited the edition of all subtitles.
