This study investigates the impact of Serious Games (SGs) within Higher Education, focusing on student engagement, collaboration, and academic performance. Based on a survey of teachers and students across 34 European universities, the research confirms that SGs are preferred, highly valued tools and significantly enhance learning outcomes by fostering critical and creative thinking and interpersonal relationships. Furthermore, group use was found to be superior to a combination of group and individual use, although further investigation is needed into the potential obstacles and dynamics that develop within the group during group use.

Abstract
This study investigates the impact of Serious Games (SGs) within Higher Education, focusing on student engagement, collaboration, and academic performance. Based on a survey of teachers and students across 34 European universities, the research confirms that SGs are preferred, highly valued tools and significantly enhance learning outcomes by fostering critical and creative thinking and interpersonal relationships. Furthermore, group use was found to be superior to a combination of group and individual use, although further investigation is needed into the potential obstacles and dynamics that develop within the group during group use.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
