A mixed, experimental and numerical, approach is exploited to investigate the susceptibility of a commercial notebook to intentional electromagnetic interferences which recently attracted a growing interest in the electromagnetic compatibility community. The experimental part of the investigation consists in verifying the maximum electromagnetic field at which a notebook and an uninterruptible power supply may continue to function correctly when subjected to a field in a semi-anechoic chamber. Since such a field can be measured only externally to the device under test, the analysis is partially conducted numerically to assess the electromagnetic field distribution inside the enclosure containing the boards and the susceptible components.
