Conversion d’une gastroplastie verticale calibrée en court-circuit gastrique en Y par voie robot-assistée (avec vidéo)

This video shows a 57-year-old woman who undergoes conversion from a Mason vertical gastroplasty to a Rouxen-Y gastric bypass. The decision for revisional surgery was validated during a multidisciplinary meeting. This patient had invalidating symptoms of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) despite adequate medical therapy, associated with a weight regain resulting in a BMI of 32 kg/m2. A Mason gastroplasty was performed 16 years before the reoperation to manage a severe obesity with a BMI of 39 kg/m2. This patient underwent her first reoperation 11 years after initial procedure and this corresponded to the removal of the gastric band for severe GERD symptoms. An abdominoplasty was also observed in her past medical history. This video shows the various steps involved in the minimally invasive transformation of a calibrated vertical gastroplasty into a Roux-en-Y gastric bypass using Da Vinci robotic assistance.
