Experimental validation is often looked for to corroborate numerical or analytical formulations. However, in shielding problems, a number of issues should be carefully considered before comparing the results ensuing from a measurement campaign with those attained analytically or numerically. In this manuscript the typical configuration of perforated shield is considered against a source of electrostatic discharge, putting in evidence the most relevant aspects influencing the experimental results, either from a qualitative and quantitative point of view.
