The Article 5 of the 1964 Venice Charter, over the last sixty years, and the attached B of the Charter of Restoration of 1972 have placed the issue of the restoration and use of ancient architecture, currently disused from its authentic function, at the center of the international debate on historical and cultural heritage. The large number of deconsecrated churches and architectures that are no longer habitable due to high running costs has raised the issue of the use of these assets. The clear desire not to abandon them to decay obliges us to find an appropriate use in the public interest that is compatible with the architecture and does not mortify the pre-existence, but dialogues with it. Wrong uses of pre-existing historic buildings, but also of neighboring urban areas, compromise conser vation, and it is essential that analyses and projects on these architectures are carried out in an interdisciplinary manner in order to avoid as far as possible errors and shortcomings that could irreparably compromise them.

Abstract
Wrong uses of pre-existing historic buildings, but also of neighboring urban areas, compromise conser vation, and it is essential that analyses and projects on these architectures are carried out in an interdisciplinary manner in order to avoid as far as possible errors and shortcomings that could irreparably compromise them.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
