Abstract

One of the goals of implant rehabilitation is to improve tissue response over time. Some implant systems show a long-term maintenance of the marginal bone ridge and in some cases an increase in peri-implant bone 1. Many factors influence the tissue healing. Urdaneta et al. 2 shows a significant correlation with the abutment design. Vela3 in 2019 supposed the presence of fibers similar to dentoperiostals. The aim of our study is to demonstrate the existence and the disposition of oblique fibers originating from periosteum and directed towards the abutment with emispherical base, platform switching and conometrical locking taper connection, at 12 and 18 months from functional load.
