The recent pandemic crisis caused the evolution of new habits and brought attention to the importance of access to in-between spaces: not all activities can be replicated within domestic boundaries. In-between spaces play the role of connecting urban realities with the environment by offering different levels of equipped areas, regulating the surrounding microclimate conditions, encouraging good habits, favoring encounters, also providing direct feedback on the relational organization of communities and on social inclusiveness. However, it is difficult to quantify the level of accessibility to in-between spaces, considering the impact on the psycho-physical and environmental well-being aspects of the community. The objective of the research consists in the definition of an evaluation analysis regard- ing the level of accessibility of in-between spaces. Through the analysis of the state of the art, the research group listed a series of evaluable criteria, in order to build up a scorecard divided in different classes. A restricted-list of weighted indicators results from the combination of these criteria. The result consists in a qualitative and quantitative evaluation of actions taken in in-between spaces to increase their accessibility. The innovation of the research subsists in the elaboration of a methodological tool for designer and municipality that integrate different features coming from both technical-environmental and psycho-physical approaches.

Abstract
The innovation of the research subsists in the elaboration of a methodological tool for designer and municipality that integrate different features coming from both technical-environmental and psycho-physical approaches.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
