Recently a series of papers was introduced describing on "how to do" certain techniques. More specifically we published on how to perform strain imaging using the transcutaneous and endoscopic ultrasound approach and shear wave elastography (SWE). In the first part we describe how to optimize the examination technique, discussing normal values, pitfalls, artefacts and specific tips for applying SWE to specific organs (liver, breast, thyroid, salivary glands) as part of a diagnostic US examination. In part II, the use of SWE in the pancreas, spleen, kidney, prostate, scrotum, musculoskeletal system, lymph nodes and future developments are discussed.

Abstract
Recently a series of papers was introduced describing on "how to do" certain techniques. More specifically we published on how to perform strain imaging using the transcutaneous and endoscopic ultrasound approach and shear wave elastography (SWE). In the first part we describe how to optimize the examination technique, discussing normal values, pitfalls, artefacts and specific tips for applying SWE to specific organs (liver, breast, thyroid, salivary glands) as part of a diagnostic US examination. In part II, the use of SWE in the pancreas, spleen, kidney, prostate, scrotum, musculoskeletal system, lymph nodes and future developments are discussed.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
