Patients with LF/LG severe AO have a worse prognosis when compared with those with normal LVEF and present a high perioperative mortality even after AVR. LV impairment can be highly variable in presentation an it could be reversibile or not after AVR. In this subset of patients there is an expected increment of myocardial wall stress which is related both to afterload mismatch and LV geometrical remodelling. The aim of our study was to determine if the noninvasive evaluation of LV wall stress could be useful to assess the likelihood of LV function recovery after AVR in patients with LF/LG aortic stenosis.

Abstract
Patients with LF/LG severe AO have a worse prognosis when compared with those with normal LVEF and present a high perioperative mortality even after AVR. LV impairment can be highly variable in presentation an it could be reversibile or not after AVR. In this subset of patients there is an expected increment of myocardial wall stress which is related both to afterload mismatch and LV geometrical remodelling. The aim of our study was to determine if the noninvasive evaluation of LV wall stress could be useful to assess the likelihood of LV function recovery after AVR in patients with LF/LG aortic stenosis.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
