The essay analyzes the recent judgment delivered by the African Court on Hunan and Peoples' Rights in the case of Sébastien Ajavon v. Benin. On 29 March 2021, the Court rendered its judgment, assessing the legal consequences of non-compliance with the African Court decisions. By analyzing the case, it is possible to shed light on both the legal implications attached to violations of the obligation to comply with the African Court decisions and the role of the Court in respect of such violations.
