In this article, the low-frequency magnetic shielding effectiveness of a planar screen with magnetic and conductive properties in a coplanar-loops configuration (as required in the IEEE Standard 299) is evaluated through a new closed-form formula under the thin-sheet and small-loop approximations. The formulation clearly shows the separate contribution of the permeability and the conductivity of the screen to the shielding performance. The results obtained with the proposed closed-form formulas are compared with the exact ones derived through numerical integrations to assess the relevant accuracy and limits of validity.

Abstract
In this article, the low-frequency magnetic shielding effectiveness of a planar screen with magnetic and conductive properties in a coplanar-loops configuration (as required in the IEEE Standard 299) is evaluated through a new closed-form formula under the thin-sheet and small-loop approximations. The formulation clearly shows the separate contribution of the permeability and the conductivity of the screen to the shielding performance. The results obtained with the proposed closed-form formulas are compared with the exact ones derived through numerical integrations to assess the relevant accuracy and limits of validity.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
