We optimized a high density and low polydispersion phase change microdroplets (MDs) system consisting of a decafluoropentane core (DFP) [1] and a dioctadecylammonium bromide shell (DDAB). We propose an effective and non-toxic vector able to transfect nucleic acids into the cells due to DDAB peculiarities as well as capable to release the loaded drug, [2]. The development of this system is aimed at application in non-viral gene therapy and can synergistically carry out a genic and chemotherapy activity on tumor cells (Sk-Mel 28) to counteract cellular drug resistance. Abstract
