The Italian translation of the Spanish novel El río del Edén by José María Merino (Premio Nacional de Narrativa and Premio Crítica de Castilla y León in 2013), is analyzed under its multiple aspects, both linguistic and stylistic. This translation has been carried out by a group of three translators and two editors, during the Master in Translation of the University of Rome “La Sapienza”. This peculiar way of team translating has generated a linguistic debate on the concrete cases presented by the text, giving to each member the possibility to discuss his ideas and proposals. The article exposes some of the most significant translating problems faced, reflecting on specific issues and giving the solutions adopted.
