Artemon discusses a passage in Pindar (O. 5, 1 ff.); in the course of the discussion, Artemon clearly refers to one of the best known Homeric interpretations of Crates of Mallos (on Il. 21, 193-197). As a consequence, we can advance the hypothesis that Artemon was a follower of Crates in Pergamum.
