Objective: The aim was to analyze the relationship between the lateromandibular deviation and the temporomandibular disc position using posteroanterior cephalometric (PA) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) in adolescents. Methods: The mandibular deviation was defined by the deviation of menton (mm) from the midsagittal reference line. The patients were classified in three groups based on the disc position: group 1, bilateral disc position, Normal N-N, disc displacement with reduction DDR-DDR, disc displacement without reduction DDNR-DDNR; group 2, disc displacement more advanced on the homolateral side of the deviation; group 3, disc displacement more advanced on the contralateral side of the deviation. The ANOVA test was performed. Results: 53 patients were included. There was statistically association between the highest menton deviation and the group 2 (p<0.01). Conclusion: the severity of the joint disc displacement was significantly correlated with the amount ofmenton deviation
