Our report highlights the important role that robotic colonoscopy (RC) can have in overcoming not only poor patient tolerance of endoscopic procedures, but also the risk of intestinal perforation, especially when dolichocolon and abdominal adhesions are present. Moreover, although other diagnostic methods are available as alternatives to conventional colonoscopy, RC guarantees operational modalities such as biopsies and polypectomies, as well as advanced endoscopic imaging techniques by means of electronic chromoendoscopy. The retrograde ileoscopy performed during RC further emphasizes the usefulness and versatility of this technique.

Abstract
Our report highlights the important role that robotic colonoscopy (RC) can have in overcoming not only poor patient tolerance of endoscopic procedures, but also the risk of intestinal perforation, especially when dolichocolon and abdominal adhesions are present. Moreover, although other diagnostic methods are available as alternatives to conventional colonoscopy, RC guarantees operational modalities such as biopsies and polypectomies, as well as advanced endoscopic imaging techniques by means of electronic chromoendoscopy. The retrograde ileoscopy performed during RC further emphasizes the usefulness and versatility of this technique.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
