Abstract

First-hand ecological knowledge and engineering expertise is bundled in a three-week program in the capital of energy-efficient and green building: Vienna. The UNESCO-awarded international program is geared towards students primarily at the graduate level who study architecture and engineering sciences; however, anyone with a background in a built environment-related field is welcome. There are also students and professionals from facility management, urban planning, landscape architecture and policy development. The GBS Summer University is co-organized by an excellent consortium of over 30 national and international scientific organizations, and is implemented by the OEAD-Housing Office together with the BOKU University and the TU Wien. Upon completion of 175 hours of course work, students receive 7 ECTS-credits. The program is split into two weeks of lectures, workshops, exercises, and excursions, with the third week dedicated to designing a group project incorporating the knowledge gained during the first two weeks. The poster was created and published on display on the occasion of the closing ceremony of the Summer University at TU Sky Vienna
