INTRODUCTION. The incidence of impacted lower second molar lies between 0.03% and 4.25%. Impacted teeth are most often on the right side and mesially inclined. The unilateral impaction is more frequent than the bilateral one. AIM OF WORK. The Authors report a case where a combined surgical and orthodontical treatment allowed to correct a bilateral lower second molar impaction. THERAPEUTIC ASPECTS. Late mixed dentition and early permanent dentition (11-14 years) are indicated for the treatment of this disturb. If the second molar is slightly tipped on its mesial side, orthodontics is the only treatment and an elastic or a metal separating should be placed. If the tooth is severely tipped, surgical repositioning or a combined surgical and orthodontical treatment or teeth extraction are necessary before uprighting.
