L'utilizzo combinato della computer-guided piezocision e degli allineatori trasparenti: uno studio clinico prospettico. The combined use of computer-guided piezocision and clear aligners: a prospective clinical study

OBJECTIVES To evaluate the effectiveness of the combined use of computer-guided piezocision and clear aligners. MATERIALS AND METHODS 10 patients were treated. The surgery was performed with piezoelectric handpiece and guided by a CAD/CAM surgical template with 3D control of the piezoelectric surgery micro-saw. RESULTS The orthodontic treatment was completed in a third of the scheduled time. There was not a statistically significant difference between the pre- and post-operative periodontal indexes, or deterioration in oral health-related quality of life (OHRQoL). CONCLUSIONS The described technique is a safe, effective and predictable, with a low impact on OHRQoL.
