The knowledge of fortified settlements in the roman area, which is still unknown today, requires systematic cataloging and processing of data describing the state of preservation of the material structures and of the territorial context within which they are inserted, the degradation and the types of instability. The aim of the study, experimentally applied on the ruins of Ninfa’s buildings, is to develop a “carta del rischio” that allows planning of restoration work, respecting the architectural-historical aspects of fortified sites.
