Teenagers constantly use computer at home, in particular surfing on the Internet (also available on mobile devices such as smartphones and tablets). ICT can provide new tools that can open new opportunities for learning in the classroom The most recent PISA data (OECD, 2015) reveal that disadvantaged students use the Internet at home significantly less than their peers without learning problems for research information, but there are no differences between the two groups for recreational use. The problem that the teacher must solve is to integrate the teaching analog aids (such as textbooks, blackboard, historical and geographical atlases) with new tools (e-book reader, smartpen, software for speech synthesis, cloud services and archives on the net for the share of the lessons), proposing active, participatory and inclusive teaching methods. The present study aims to see how Internet use affects the language skills of a group of students with SEN. The target population is students at the end of the second class of the low secondary school. We used a research instrument based on choice test closed. In addition to checking performance levels, we decided to analyze the incidence of some background variables through a student questionnaire. The ESCS index does not correlate with the performance of students with SEN, then the low skill levels are not related to the socio-economic parameters and cultural, instead the background has a significant impact on performance for the other students. There is a significant relation between the performance of other students and their activities on the Internet, but this is not for students with SEN. In view of these results reveals some important suggestions: only the top performers use the Internet mainly for information purposes; household resources affect only a few students in the use of the Internet; students with SEN do not possess digital skills yet defined, then the chances of improving their school experience are wide.

Abstract
In view of these results reveals some important suggestions: only the top performers use the Internet mainly for information purposes; household resources affect only a few students in the use of the Internet; students with SEN do not possess digital skills yet defined, then the chances of improving their school experience are wide.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
