This paper is concerned with one of the distributional effects of DST, namely the need, for work reasons, to wake up in the dark. By using the Italian survey on Time Use for the year 2008, we show that, in fact, there are differences among occupational groups in waking up times, but we show also that the differences in the electricity bill because of DST among occupational groups are negligible. The only month that is associated to a net loss for all is October
