The aim of this study is to identify areas with specific spatial survival and longevity patterns which are statistically significant, and to study their evolution over time. Standardized mortality ratios for all-cause mortality and for mortality by leading causes of death, for the period 1981-2002, are analysed by using the Local Indicators of Spatial Association.
