IF: 70 anni di ingegneria ferroviaria! / IF: 70 years of railway engineering!

On the 15th July 1946, the first issue of our journal was published by the National board of Italian railway engineers, today CIFI. Seventy years later we are here to remember it, with a lot of affection, without rhetoric but with a bit of pride, because the continuity is anyway an important value and a rare dowry, which our journal can boast of. This article starts obviously from the event to celebrate, but it wants take the opportunity to let more and better the evolution along the time of our journal: the past, when the firmest foundations still securely supporting IF well beyond the duration of the technical life of any rail engineering handiwork, were laid; the present, which continuously becomes present perfect, and stimulates us to take as well continuously valuable instructions on how to improve IF; the future, which we can attempt to depict, but that, in shapes and modes difficult to be focused today, will have and still more IF as a leading actor in the role of technical knowledge communication tool, incitement to the cultural growth of its usual and casual readers
