New results of a search for the ultra-rare decay μ→ eγ by the MEG Collaboration at the Paul Scherrer Institut (PSI) continuous muon beam are reported here. The data were taken during 2009 and 2010 and correspond to approximately 1.8× 1014 muon stopped on target. A maximum-likelihood fit analysis sets an upper limit at 90% CL on the branching ratio, B(μ → eγ) < 2.4 10-12, the best limit ever achieved for this process.

Abstract
New results of a search for the ultra-rare decay μ→ eγ by the MEG Collaboration at the Paul Scherrer Institut (PSI) continuous muon beam are reported here. The data were taken during 2009 and 2010 and correspond to approximately 1.8× 1014 muon stopped on target. A maximum-likelihood fit analysis sets an upper limit at 90% CL on the branching ratio, B(μ → eγ) < 2.4 10-12, the best limit ever achieved for this process.File allegati a questo prodotto
