With a growing number of accesses, the fixation and the usage of communication paradigms of the web 2.0 and the applications for mobile devices is questioning the concept of mimesis in virtual (and actual) communities. Looking through the glass of concepts such as “immediacy” and “hypermediacy” (Bolter, Grusin: 2000); “space of flows” and “timeless time” (Castells: 1996) and “hiperreality” (Baudrillard: 1994), one can perhaps understand how the act of spectating and the act of inhabiting the digital environment are deeply intertwined.

Abstract
With a growing number of accesses, the fixation and the usage of communication paradigms of the web 2.0 and the applications for mobile devices is questioning the concept of mimesis in virtual (and actual) communities. This article proposes some initial considerations on how “mediamorphosis” (Fidler: 1990) as a cultural phenomenon can influence creative processes and spectating in contemporary performing arts. Taking as an example Daria Deflorian and Antonio Tagliarini’s play Il cielo non è un fondale (2017), a background in media studies, Internet studies, sociology of communication and digital philosophy is here adopted to analyse the modes of agency of the spectator towards narrative and dramaturgical elements. Looking through the glass of concepts such as “immediacy” and “hypermediacy” (Bolter, Grusin: 2000); “space of flows” and “timeless time” (Castells: 1996) and “hiperreality” (Baudrillard: 1994), one can perhaps understand how the act of spectating and the act of inhabiting the digital environment are deeply intertwined.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
