Phenology and morphological leaf characteristics of Quercus ilex at its northermost distribution limit in Italy were analyzed. The results reveal a clear adaptability of Quercus ilex, in terms of temporal optimization of phenophases and leaf morphological plasticity, in accordance to the local climate.
