The last and almost neglected work by Verdi, the composition for four female voices on "San Bernardo Prayer" (last Canto in the Third Cantica) is here collocated in Italian musical context of the last years of XIX century. At the same time the late Verdi is considered as a high witness of the "New Dante" created by the (not olny) Italian cultural context of that time
L'ultimo e quasi sconosciuto lavoro di Verdi, la intonazione della preghiera di San Bernardo, viene letta nel contesto musicale italiano degli ultimi anni dell'Ottocento. In parallelo viene letto il tardo Verdi come una delle testimonianze del "nuovo Dante"
