Il restauro dell’architettura a convegno con SIRA

In September, the faculty of Architecture of “Sapienza” university of Rome held a conference dedicated to the protection of the architectural heritage and the related intervention practices. Among the others, Donatella Fiorani - the chairman of SIRA (the Italian Society for Architectural Restoration) - and professors from main italian universities, took part to the discussion focusing on different topics: research activities included in doctorate programs, theoretical issues, building related knowledge:historical report, structural and material diagnostic, design, construction site and restoration duration, development and communication, research and educational matters. The conference was anticipated by a preparatory workshop involving only experts (which took place on September 26 at the premises of Piazza Borghese), while public officials and sector specialists attended the open day. The conference was closed by the award ceremony of the 1st contest called “AWARD FOR YOUNG RESEARCHERS - SIRA 2016”, for which more than 100 graduate thesis in architectural restoration were presented; such works were on exhibition at the premises of Piazza Borghese from the 26th up to the 30th of September.

Il 26 e il 27 settembre 2016 la Facoltà di Architettura della “Sapienza” Università di Roma, ha ospitato il I Convegno SIRA dal titolo “RICerca/REStauro”. La SIRA, Società Italiana per il Restauro dell’Architettura, che annovera fra i suoi iscritti professori e ricercatori universitari nel settore disciplinare del Restauro dell’Architettura, nonché studiosi di ogni nazionalità che si distinguono nel campo della tutela dei beni culturali e paesaggistici, è una società di natura scientifica che si prefigge di promuovere la cultura del restauro attraverso lo studio e la valorizzazione del patrimonio1. In linea con le finalità della società, denominazione e contenuti del I Convegno SIRA ben illustrano la stretta corrispondenza fra studio e operatività, caratteristica propria del settore del restauro architettonico che, in tale occasione, ha voluto approfondire le molteplici declinazioni e problematiche relative alla tutela e alle pratiche di intervento sul costruito storico.
