Aim of the paper is to underline harmonic disturbance issues about the penetration of electric vehicle (EV) charging stations in real MV/LV distribution networks. The presence of various non-linear loads, due to the high penetration of electronic converters on the LV side, highlights the need to assess the state of the network also on MV side. A sensitivity analysis about the composition of harmonic disturbances due to AC/DC converters installed on-board in EVs has been developed, based on experimental data obtained from laboratory measurements on five commercial EVs. Harmonic resonance evaluation is essential to know the effect of non-linear loads penetration, or when one or more portions of the network are not connected to MV busbars. In particular, harmonic disturbances for two scenarios with different slow charging point penetration and different MV network configurations are presented. © 2016 Power Systems Computation Conference.
