The Great War caused a huge number of mutilations and injuries which made young men unable to come back to their lives. They needed pensions and assistance but, at the same time, they asked not to be forgotten. The foundation of the Associazione Nazionale Mutilati e Invalidi di Guerra (ANMIG) was the first step those men took in order to have their rights respected.
