When we see a Crescent Moon in the sky its position with respect to the horizon isn’t always the same: why it can have a shape of boat or the letter C ? Does it change with the hours, with the latitude of our place of observation, with the seasons? The dark blots are placed in the same way during the Full Moon? To answer to these questions we invented an instrument to fix our observations to compare them: the “wheel of the Moon”.
