Since 1950 the Italian schools of Architecture have always assigned a central role to the practice of urban survey, but it seems to get weaker and less relevant inside the educational university program of the last years, although the growing importance of web information systems like SIT (territorial information system) claims deeper and deeper knowledge of urban places. Starting from this contradiction, the aim of the paper is to merge the use of 3D acquisition and modeling approach with consolidated survey traditions, in order to face the actual demands of urban communication. In this sense, an urban survey and modeling experience carried out in Milan is described at the end of the paper.
//// (versione inglese) Since 1950 the Italian schools of Architecture have always assigned a central role to the practice of urban survey, but it seems to get weaker and less relevant inside the educational university program of the last years, although the growing importance of web information systems like SIT (territorial information system) claims deeper and deeper knowledge of urban places. Abstract
In this sense, an urban survey and modeling experience carried out in Milan is described at the end of the paper.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
