Alle origini della politica turistica fascista: la nascita del Commissariato del turismo

The work wishes to recall some aspects of the development of tourism in Italy in the passage from the Liberal age to Fascism with particular reference to the initiatives which characterized the tourist industry between the 1920s and the 1930s. The complexity of “tourism” as a phenomenon led Fascism not to place it inside a corporation because it would not have been able to perform the vast and complex tasks attributed to the Enit ( the Italian National Tourist Board), once this were to be fascistized. Many national activities revolved around tourism: from the great car manufacturers to small handicraft industry; from sea shipping to rail transport. It was for this reason that after a series of legislative actions, Mussolini decided to create in 1930 the Tourist Committee.

Il lavoro ripercorre alcuni aspetti del mutamento del fenomeno turistico in Italia nel passaggio dall'età liberale a quella fascista, con particolare attenzione alle iniziative che hanno disciplinato il settore turistico tra gli anni Venti e gli anni Trenta.
