Serramenti Frangisole. Frames Shadings

In architecture, windows are the construction elements that enable air and light to pass enter the rooms we inhabit and as such, have always made an important contribution to maintaining a healthy living environment. From a purely semantic point of view, right from the very origins of architecture their nature has evolved in two ways: in sculpted, masonry architecture they are ‘holes’ in the perimeter structural mass of the building. In the evolution of flexible-wood architecture, ‘fabric’ if we want to use the terms defined by Gottfried Semper, they are part of a wall as diaphragm (Die wand), that performs a representative as well as a protective function in architecture.

In quanto elementi costruttivi che permettono il passaggio di luce e aria all’interno degli ambienti in cui viviamo, le finestre, da sempre, contribuiscono al benessere del nostro habitat. Da un punto di vista prettamente architettonico, hanno seguito una duplice linea evolutiva: mentre nell’architettura plastica e muraria sono ‘buchi’ nella massa strutturale perimetrale dell’edificio, nell’architettura elastico-lignea -‘tessile’, secondo il riferimento semperiano, appartengono al murodiaframma (die wand), che assolve a una funzione rappresentativa e protettiva del manufatto architettonico.
