With the use of the globin gene sequence from Aplysia, the possibility of quasi-periodic patterns in the primary structure of genes was explored by Fourier transform calcn. These calcns. clearly indicated the presence of repeating patterns within the linear lattices consisting of sep. sets of the bases with interdispersed vacancies. In the Aplysia globin gene, a set of peaks which corresponds to a vector distance between every 3rd base and its multiples was demonstrated. These data tend to support literature data of periodicity within the primary structure of genes.

Abstract
With the use of the globin gene sequence from Aplysia, the possibility of quasi-periodic patterns in the primary structure of genes was explored by Fourier transform calcn. These calcns. clearly indicated the presence of repeating patterns within the linear lattices consisting of sep. sets of the bases with interdispersed vacancies. In the Aplysia globin gene, a set of peaks which corresponds to a vector distance between every 3rd base and its multiples was demonstrated. These data tend to support literature data of periodicity within the primary structure of genes.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
