Un manufatto ligneo del 1700 conservato al Museo Polironiano di San Benedetto Po (Mantova): questioni critiche e indicazioni per il restauro e la musealizzazione

The artifact of 1795 in the Museum Polironiano in San Benedetto Po was known as "chrono astronomical ceiling": there are many painted panels for a total of almost 4x5 meters. The panels are painted with images of constellations and planets, and they contain data of the hours of rising and setting of the Sun, that are especially important at the change from italic to civil hours, after 1786. In the center of the artifact, we identifie a small meridian line. We discuss the shape and use of the artifact; finally, we show the need of new research.
