In this paper I propose two objectives : a) to argue the relevance of the thought of Edmund Husserl towards a rigorous and fruitful definition of a ‘phenomenology of religion’ ; b) to extract the ambiguity of the Husserlian notion of ‘absolute’, which comes out as an essential starting point of the phenomenology of religion and, at the same time, as a mark of the drive to idolatry which constantly accompanies this phenomenology like a shadow.

Abstract
In this paper I propose two objectives : a) to argue the relevance of the thought of Edmund Husserl towards a rigorous and fruitful definition of a ‘phenomenology of religion’ ; b) to extract the ambiguity of the Husserlian notion of ‘absolute’, which comes out as an essential starting point of the phenomenology of religion and, at the same time, as a mark of the drive to idolatry which constantly accompanies this phenomenology like a shadow.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
