The article suggests considering the GMO issue from a perspective which takes into account the manifold relations among human beings, societies, and organisms. The contrast between mere nature and artificial fabrication is unhelpful: interventions on nature (also of a genetic kind) are better conceived of as ways of working in collaboration with nature in sustaining a biological and social form of life.
