The making of the first Leopardi Idyll, The Moon and The Remembrance is examined throught an analytical study of the Neapolitan manuscript, full of variants and corrections, and is deeply examined the connection between the linguistic corrections and Leopardi's ideas about poetry and the function of memory, in a detailed and fascinating journey into that " finest perfection in writing " often declared by Leopardi and tested not only in the language of Songs, but also in that of the Verses. The variants of the text are analyzed in their lexical, stylistic and thematic components, but also in a diachronic way, finding, from a study of the title corrections, as Leopardi goes through the presentation of a traditional Idyllic in a celebration of poetry text, in which the function of the memory becomes dramatically metaphysics. The essay is collected in a volume that aims to examine, through various dedicated essays, the structure of the Book of Verses published by Leopardi in Bologna in 1826.
La genesi del primo Idillio di Leopardi, Alla Luna o La Ricordanza viene esaminata mediante uno studio analitico delle varianti del manoscritto napoletano, e degli intrecci tra le correzioni linguistiche e il pensiero leopardiano sulla funzione della memoria, in un percorso minuzioso e affascinante in quella "minutissima perfezione nello scrivere" più volte dichiarata da Leopardi e sperimentata non solo nella lingua "pellegrina" delle Canzoni, ma anche in quella "vaga" dei versi. Le varianti del testo vengono analizzate nelle loro componenti lessicali, stilistiche e tematiche, ma anche diacroniche, scoprendo, dallo studio delle correzioni del titolo, come Leopardi passi dalla presentazione di un Idillio tradizionale a un testo di celebrazione della poesia, in cui la funzione della memoria diventa vertiginosamente metafisica. Il saggio è raccolto in un volume che si propone di approfondire, mediante vari saggi dedicati, la struttura del Libro dei Versi pubblicato da Leopardi a Bologna nel 1826.
